emotional health

Emotional strain lives in the body too.

Anxiety, low mood, stress, exhaustion after a long difficult period. We work alongside your doctor, psychologist or psychiatrist and never replace them. Our part is the body: the tight chest, the shallow breath, the sleep that won't come, the tension that stays after the worry has passed.

Choose one of our 3 modalities,
or combine them

In Chinese medicine, emotions and the body are not separate systems. A long period of stress, loss or pressure leaves a physical pattern: held breath, tension around the diaphragm, disturbed sleep, a digestion that tightens under pressure. Your first visit begins with listening to your story, pulse, tongue, posture and breath, and from there we decide which combination fits.

Lineage Acupuncture

Classical Chinese acupuncture moves what has stagnated. In chronic pain, stagnation is the underlying pattern almost every time. Blood and energy held around an old injury, a posture the body adopted protectively, a stress that never released.

Qilian works with slightly thicker needles, inserted freehand without guide tubes, combining local needling with distal points that channel stagnated energy through the meridian system. What determines the result is needle depth, angle, speed, and the precise reading of when to move to the next point. As in martial arts, this takes years of cultivation to put the power of the hand and the focus of the mind into each needle. Not as gentle as modern styles, but effective for serious and stubborn conditions.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Individual formulas matched to your pattern and adjusted as it changes, to support sleep, energy and emotional steadiness between sessions. Herbal medicine keeps working between visits, which makes it especially useful when stress is ongoing.

We ask about every medication and supplement you take before prescribing, and we coordinate with your doctor where needed.

Integrative Bodywork

03

Slow, attentive work drawing on Japanese Shiatsu, traditional Thai bodywork, somatic technique and energetic healing. The work moves at the pace your nervous system allows, through held tension in the neck, jaw, chest and belly, and through the held breath.

Nothing is forced and nothing needs to be talked through. Clinically informed by years of work in psychiatric and neurological rehabilitation.
