LINEAGE ACUPUNCTURE
Classical Chinese acupuncture, transmitted hand to hand.
Lineage-trained acupuncture from generations of Chinese medicine masters. Seventeen years of clinical practice across six continents. For chronic pain, sleep, hormonal patterns, post-stroke recovery, and the conditions the conventional path has reached its limit on.
The practice
Not the same as protocol-based acupuncture.
Nowadays, many acupuncture practices have evolved and adapted to suit modern preferences. While this often makes treatment gentler and more comfortable, it does not necessarily lead to greater therapeutic effectiveness. If the needles are as thin as a hair and are inserted without activating Qi, they may only stimulate the superficial layers of the skin rather than engaging the meridian system. As a result, modern acupuncture is often viewed as a complementary therapy rather than a primary treatment for more serious conditions.
Qilian works with needles that are slightly thicker than those commonly used in modern acupuncture. She needles free-hand, without the use of guide tubes, allowing for greater precision, control, and a deeper connection with each treatment. Every needle is inserted with the intention of activating Qi, creating a treatment that is both purposeful and effective.
As her master taught her, acupuncture is far more than simply placing needles into specific points. The speed of insertion, the power transmitted through the needle, the techniques employed, and the practitioner's cultivated skill all influence the outcome. Two practitioners may needle the same points, yet achieve vastly different results. Much like martial arts, mastering acupuncture requires years of dedicated cultivation, developing not only the power of the hands but also the focus and intention of the mind.
Overall, her style of acupuncture may not be as gentle or as immediately comfortable as some modern approaches, but it is highly effective in treating serious and complex conditions. Every treatment is carried out with great care and deep respect for each patient's physical and emotional well-being.
the liniageA Life Devoted to Healing
Qilian Shang was born and raised in China, where an early fascination with meditation, healing, and the connection between body and mind led her to Traditional Chinese Medicine. At the age of 17, she met the acupuncture master who would become her Sifu after witnessing the profound impact his treatments had on countless patients. She later dedicated years to studying under his close guidance as his indoor student, while also completing professional acupuncture training in the Netherlands. Alongside her clinical education, she volunteered and practiced in monasteries, meditation centers, and communities across Asia, experiences that deepened her appreciation for healing as both a science and a lifelong cultivation of presence, compassion, and humility. Today, with over 16 years of experience, she has treated thousands of patients from around the world.
More than the techniques of acupuncture, her greatest lesson came from her master, who taught that medical knowledge is a gift passed down through generations and should never be treated as a possession. He often reminded her that a healer's first responsibility is to serve, not to profit. This philosophy remains at the heart of her practice. With deep gratitude for the lineage that entrusted her with this knowledge, she approaches every treatment with sincerity, respect, and the understanding that healing does not come from the practitioner alone. As practitioners, we are simply channels through which compassion can flow, creating the conditions for the body to remember its own capacity to heal.
Clinical effectHealing follows its own rhythm
Every person arrives with a different story, and every body heals in its own time. Some changes happen quickly, while others unfold gradually. Rather than chasing symptoms, treatment seeks to understand the underlying pattern and support the body's natural capacity to restore balance.
Healing cannot be rushed. The body already knows what to do. Acupuncture simply creates the conditions that allow it to remember.
Acute conditionsSome changes happen quickly.
Acute pain, restricted movement, headaches, muscle tension, and recent injuries often begin to improve once the body starts moving more freely. For many people, these changes become noticeable within the first few treatments.
Constitutional conditionsDeep healing unfolds step by step.
Long-standing conditions, digestive concerns, chronic fatigue, hormonal imbalances, autoimmune disorders, and other constitutional patterns require greater patience. Healing unfolds layer by layer as the body gradually restores balance.
Acupuncture does not simply act during the treatment itself. As the body begins to reorganise and restore balance, many people continue noticing changes over the following hours and days. Each session builds upon the last, allowing deeper patterns to gradually unfold.
